Media Evangelization

The media evangelization of the Church is flourishing and increasing especially when the pandemic hits the world. But before that, we cannot deny the reality of many perverted claims and arguments of some people. All of us have our own upbringing. Because of that, each of us has our personal view on faith. We cannot also deny the reality of our own concupiscence and weakness. Now I think the big challenge is for us to have the courage to seek and speak the truth.

We do this not so just to express our own beliefs and to convince them, but, as the document says, to give ourselves in love, pure love, willing the good of the other. This is the motive of our evangelization. We love others and so we desire to unite them with the summum bonum, God. I see many priests and laity who are engaging in media evangelization but I think and sense that some of them are not comfortable engaging on hot topics like politics and apologetics. There are many things to consider when we engage in media evangelization just like the lack of familiarity with technology, personality, and the like. But this should not stop us from sharing our joyful relationship with the Lord. Perfect love casts out fear. The love of the Lord conquers all fear; thus we should not fear. People who encounter and experience God in their life will naturally flow their love for others by sharing their Love with the people they encounter.

We should apply the way of beauty as we try to reach the youth of today and attract them to how beautiful our faith is. It would help the modern people to return to their Lord. We can learn more about social communications as a mean for evangelization by the help of the encyclical of His Holiness Pope Paul VI, Inter Mirifica.
