4 "Encounter" Moments
1. Prayer- quiet conversation with God, meditative prayer
- cultivate my interior life
- Radiate Christ
- It is not I who live but Christ who lives within me
2. Sacrament
- Regular Confession- it is a renewal of our encounter with Jesus not just being forgiven
- Eucharist
3. Fellowship and Works of Mercy
- encounter Jesus with the people around you
- it's in trials and difficulties that Jesus calls us to love
- encounter Jesus in the poor
- are we generous in giving to the poor? serving them
- Not just throwing money at them but looking them in the eyes
4. Apostles Teaching: The Battle for Your Mind
- Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind
- secularism is not neutral
- Form our minds with the truth
- We have to make it a priority to fill our minds with good things
- Spend our time with the Word of God in the Scripture, the teaching of the Church, and the lives of the Saints
- You cannot be a missionary or bring others to Christ if you yourself are not deeply regularly renewing your own encounter with Jesus in these four ways
- When we experience something good we want to tell other people about it (eg. movies, whom we love)
- If you have really encountered Jesus as a friend, you can share Him with other people
- The woman on the well effectively preaches what she had experienced with Jesus by just sharing her own experience, that's the same for us
- Reflect on your own experience with Christ
- To appreciate more how Christ has moved in your life, how He changes you
- Life of Jan Tarnowski- no degrees but did what he can, rosary prayer meetings by 15 men and train them in little by little catechism, one of those is Pope JP2, he influenced JP2
- God needs you to play your part
- Start it by little way of evangelization that is modeled by Jesus
