The Five Wounds of Christ

Archbishop Socrates Villegas reflects upon the five wounds of Christ:

1. The wound on the right hand symbolizes the wound of power without service
2. The Left hand is the side of weakness, weakness without hope
- To acknowledge you're weak is a sign of humility but to say you are weak and you are destined for damnation, is a sign of despair
- Discouragement is the backdoor of the Devil
3. Right foot symbolizes justice and righteousness, it is the would of justice without mercy
- justice and mercy complement each other
- Mercy without justice is disillusion
- Justice without mercy is cruelty
4. Left foot symbolizes leadership, it is the would of leadership without example
- without witnesses
- Be an example of the what you preach
5. The wound from the side of Christ symbolizes redemption, it is the would of the earth without heaven
- when we love the earth and forget about heaven

The Five Wounds of Christ:
Power without SERVICE
Weakness without HOPE
Justice without MERCY
Leadership without EXAMPLE
Earth without HEAVEN
