Spiritual Race

"Take and Receive"

- State in life first then go with that
- Race your race and not anybody else's
- Sanctity is not up to us we don't achieve sanctity like an accomplishment and when done God has to give me a return
- We dispose ourselves to receive holiness
- Wait its a process
- If its dangerous for us to fail, its more dangerous if we were only to succeed because we can never succeed without appropriating some of it to ourselves
- We do not produce sanctity, we receive it
- Allow God by submitting your will
- Many thinks to advance in the spiritual life focusses only on externals of fasting and abstinence but if you neglect the internals of love of neighbor, peace of heart, that's where actual sanctity is - union with God's will, actual love of God
- If you're saying your prayers you're doing penance, you're trying your best you are making a progress, OUR GOAL IS NOT TO FEEL CLOSE TO GOD, TO BE CLOSE TO GOD. OUR GOAL IS NOT TO SEE THE CHANGE BUT TO MAKE THE CHANGE HAPPEN, TO ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN, DON'T BE DECEIVE BY APPEARANCES
- Worse than any sin is a failure to rise again after sin
- Don't be comparing yourself to others, don't become impatient with others, just run your race, just do what's in front of you, accomplish duty or state of life, pray your daily prayers, bear with the faults of others, ask for the the grace to love God more and more each day
